Our Mission

The Bottom of the Ninth Foundation is dedicated to uplifting and empowering communities in need. We rely on private donors to fund our initiatives, helping aspiring athletes achieve their dreams and secure college scholarships. Contributions also allow us to host events where underprivileged children can interact with positive mentors, gain a sense of family, and develop confidence.

Our giving partners enable us to extend our reach, providing critical resources and services to deserving entities. We actively seek partnerships with other non-profit organizations to expand our mission and provide immediate impact on young people. We ensure every donation is maximized, upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability.

The Bottom of the Ninth Foundation is committed to creating opportunities, fostering hope and resilience, and empowering dreams to change lives and driven to achieve the extraordinary!

Our Guiding Principles

Make a Difference

We are dedicated to leveraging our extensive network within the baseball community to identify student-athletes who would benefit from our program. Our commitment is to make a significant impact on their lives.

Be Passionate

Our goal is to positively influence as many student-athletes as possible. Each participant must be dedicated to achieving academic success, athletic development, and social responsibility.

Embrace Accountability

We aim to utilize our resources to create lasting changes in the lives of our participants. Teaching the meaning and importance of accountability in daily activities is crucial to their growth.

Understand Leadership

Leadership manifests in various forms. It is not merely about being the loudest voice but about demonstrating a strong work ethic and personal commitment to excellence every day.

Commit to Growth

Development happens over time. We foster an environment that encourages continuous improvement—mentally, physically, and emotionally. Progress is built on daily effort and intentional actions.

Trust the Process

Every day presents decisions to be made. We will define the PROCESS for our student-athletes, emphasizing total effort without focusing solely on RESULTS. Through this PROCESS, the results will become evident, both on and off the field.

Our Name

The phrase "it's The Bottom of The Ninth" in baseball signifies the last chance to win. This name was chosen because it reflects the situation many of those we serve are facing.

Often, due to circumstances beyond their control, they find themselves far behind and in need of immediate aid, guidance, and decisive action to position themselves for a successful future. Our foundation leverages over 75 years of combined experience, financial resources, and knowledge to help those in need.

We aim to thoroughly prepare each student-athlete for opportunities to continue their athletic and academic careers after high school.

In addition to the student-athletes we work with, there are many other opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young people and communities that do not share the same chance that are afforded to those young people whose families are able to provide the financial support to chase their dreams.

Our goal is to reach as many young people as possible, across the globe, and provide a chance to pursue their dreams. As it signifies in our name, it truly is the Bottom of the Ninth, the last chance for these young people to change the course of their futures!

A message from our founder...

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our Foundation and the opportunity to help us change lives!

Over my career, I have recruited hundreds of student-athletes. Initially, it was straight forward, but in the past 8-10 years, the recruiting process has become challenging due to exposure issues and significant financial commitments. Unfortunately, student-athletes from underserved communities lack the resources to pursue their dreams of playing college baseball. This is unacceptable, as many hardworking athletes are being blocked from a promising future. The recruiting process can cost families between $5,000 to $15,000 annually, but we are committed to providing these services at no cost to our players.

My wife, Michell, and I adopted three children and were foster parents, witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by children in the foster system. These experiences inspired us to create The Bottom of the Ninth Foundation. Our mission is two-fold: to provide every critical piece of the recruiting process to deserving student-athletes and to work with other non-profit organizations to make an immediate impact on young people.

With over 38 years in the game, I have always prioritized giving back by hosting free baseball clinics and activities for young people. We emphasize doing the right thing, making good decisions, and striving to be the best. All events are provided at no cost to the organizations we work with.

As you review this presentation, we hope you will consider joining us as a Partner. Your donation will make an immediate positive impact on our clients and change their lives. On behalf of my wife Michell and my family, thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,
Joe Jordano
